Kate comes to the STAR Institute as the Education Program Assistant after several years of administrative, marketing, research, and writing roles in mental health advocacy organizations in Colorado. She is currently studying Public Health at the University of Colorado Denver and has ambitions of entering health policy analysis after completing her baccalaureate and graduate education. She is particularly passionate about public/provider education and legislative advocacy related to non-disabling language, community inclusion, and integrated healthcare access for people with psychiatric, neurological, and developmental disabilities. She currently supports the Education team at STAR Institute with provider and parent education programs, provides technical support to program participants, and assists in other special projects as needed.
